What is ThrottleStop?
ThrottleStop is a small application designed to monitor and correct the three main types of CPU throttling commonly used in many laptop computers. The left side of the application provides various options to bypass CPU throttling, while the right side displays a Monitoring panel that shows the current state of each CPU thread. Many laptops employ clock modulation and multiplier reductions to lower performance and power consumption, either to allow the computer to run cooler or to enable operation with a power adapter insufficient to fully power the laptop and recharge its battery simultaneously. When using ThrottleStop, it is crucial to monitor power consumption at the wall with a metering device, ensuring not to exceed the capabilities of the power adapter, as bypassing these throttling schemes carries the risk of permanent damage to the power adapter or computer, potentially not covered by the warranty
