What is TrackerControl?

TrackerControl is a groundbreaking mobile app that empowers users to monitor and control the extensive, covert data collection practices of mobile apps regarding user behavior. Drawing from the comprehensive X-Ray project database developed by Professor Max Van Kleek and others at the University of Oxford, the app reveals the companies behind this ubiquitous tracking, enabling users to selectively block such activities. Notably, TrackerControl achieves this functionality without compromising user privacy, as it operates solely through a local VPN server on the user's device, without any external network data transmission. Furthermore, the app educates users about their rights under current EU data protection laws, such as the GDPR and ePrivacy Directive. Unlike similar solutions, TrackerControl does not intercept SSL connections, minimizing privacy risks and allowing for seamless usage on unrooted Android devices
