What is Tremulous?

Tremulous is a free, open-source game that blends a team-based first-person shooter (FPS) with elements of a real-time strategy (RTS). Players can choose from two unique races, aliens and humans, with each team able to build functional structures in-game similar to an RTS. These structures serve various purposes, the most critical being spawning - designated builders must ensure there are adequate spawn structures, or players will be unable to rejoin the game after death. Other structures provide automated base defense, healing functions, and more. Player advancement differs between the two teams. Humans earn credits for each alien kill, which can be used to purchase new weapons and upgrades from the "Armoury." Aliens, on the other hand, evolve into more powerful classes by accumulating kills against human opponents. The overall objective is to eliminate the opposing team by both killing their players and removing their ability to respawn through the destruction of their spawn structures
