What is vDosPlus?

vDosPlus is a free, general-purpose DOS emulator that runs on Windows and is based on the well-established vDos and DOSBox projects. Designed to execute non-gaming DOS applications on current Windows versions, vDosPlus offers advanced features such as support for file-locking, essential for multi-user programs, and the ability to print to Windows-only GDI printers. Additionally, it boasts a tight integration with the Windows operating system and enhanced support for keyboard, mouse, and display functionality. Originally named vDos-lfn due to its initial focus on providing Windows-style long file name (LFN) support in addition to traditional DOS 8.3 file names, vDosPlus has since expanded its capabilities considerably.
