What is Vivaldi?

Vivaldi is a customizable web browser that prioritizes user control and privacy. Built on a Chromium-based engine, it offers compatibility with most Chrome extensions while removing the code that tracks user activity. Vivaldi provides a wide range of settings and built-in features, including fully customizable web browser behaviors, mouse gestures, keyboard shortcuts, Quick Commands, and a personalized Speed Dial page. Users can manage bookmarks, history, and add their own web panels, as well as edit the browser theme and toolbars. Vivaldi's powerful tab management features include tab stacking, tiling, and a dedicated windows panel. It also incorporates an ad-blocker and partners with DuckDuckGo for tracker blocking. Vivaldi offers support for blocking cookie banners through a popular extension, and a Vivaldi account grants access to data sync, a blogging platform, support forums, and Vivaldi Webmail. Vivaldi is considered the spiritual successor to the original Opera browser, founded by former Opera co-founder and CEO Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner and Tatsuki Tomita
