What is WindowBlinds?

WindowBlinds is a software program that enables users to customize the visual appearance of the Windows graphical user interface. Developed by Stardock since 1998, it is the most prominent component of their flagship software suite, Object Desktop. The program allows users to apply customized "skins" to the Windows operating system, altering the look and feel of various interface elements. Now in its sixth version, WindowBlinds supports advanced visual effects such as alpha blending, which provides a level of compositing functionality similar to that found in Windows Vista, but made available on the Windows XP platform
