What is Windows Server 2012?
Windows Server 2012, the sixth release of Windows Server, is the server version of Windows 8 and successor to Windows Server 2008 R2. Developed with two pre-release versions, a developer preview and a beta, the software became generally available to customers on September 4, 2012.
