What is WinLep?

WinLep is a software application that leverages the Lepton lossless image compression algorithm to reduce the file size of JPEG images by an average of 22 without any loss in quality. The software can compress JPEG files into the LEP format and decompress LEP files back into their original JPEG state. Additionally, WinLep provides the capability to display both JPEG and LEP compressed image files. Lepton, the underlying compression technology, is an open-source algorithm capable of compressing images at a rate of 5 MB/s and decompressing them at 15 MB/s, enabling fast and efficient image processing. WinLep harnesses these capabilities to offer users a versatile tool for optimizing JPEG image storage and sharing while preserving the original image quality
