What is ZNC?
znc is an IRC proxy that enables users to maintain a persistent connection to an IRC server, even when they disconnect from the application. It runs as a daemon, connecting to the IRC server on the user's behalf, and allows users to connect from a workstation and operate as the logged-in user on the IRC server. After the user disconnects, znc continues to maintain the connection to the server, providing users with the ability to catch up on any missed activity through playback buffers
