What is OnionCat?

An IPv6-Transparent TOR Hidden Service Connector is a tool that enables users to anonymously access internet services by creating a transparent IPv6 layer on top of Tor's hidden services. This stand-alone application, which runs in userland, acts as a connector between Tor and the local operating system, allowing any IPv6-based protocol to be transmitted through the Tor network in a location-hidden manner

Highlights

  • Enables transparent use of Tor's hidden services without special client configuration (no SOCKSifying)
  • Assigns unique IPv6 addresses to hidden services, creating an "Internet within the Internet" that is location-hidden
  • Supports a wide range of protocols, including TCP6, UDP6, ICMP6, and others
  • Provides end-to-end encryption for all transmitted data
  • Ensures that users' real IP addresses cannot be revealed, guaranteeing anonymity
