TeXworks is a versatile and user-friendly TeX front-end program designed to work seamlessly across all major desktop operating systems, including Microsoft Windows (XP and Vista), GNU/Linux distributions, and Mac OS X. Inspired by the award-winning TeXShop for Mac OS X, TeXworks offers a similar experience for users across different platforms, thanks to its cross-platform, open-source tools and libraries

  • Includes an integrated PDF viewer based on the Poppler library, eliminating the need to switch to external programs for viewing typeset output
  • Provides source/preview synchronization, allowing users to quickly navigate between the source text and the corresponding position in the PDF
  • Utilizes the "SyncTeX" feature developed by Jrme Laurens, which is supported by both pdfTeX and XeTeX in TeX Live and other current releases
